water builds hope

Right now at Texas A&M Two Weeks of Sacrifice is going on!

1000 Wells is an organization that kicked off last year and has teamed up with Blood Water Missions to change the lives of precious people many miles away. Thousands of lives are lost everday in Africa becasue of unclean water alone. Restoration and healing need to be brought to this place, and we have the ability to do that.

for two weeks don't drink anything but water
talley up the money that you would have spent on other beverages
at the end of the two weeks, total the money and donate it to the 1000 Wells Project
this money will build wells in Africa
these wells will provide clean water
this clean water will save lives
these saved lives will worship a God bigger than we know
I believe that eyes will be opened. I believe that hearts will be changed. I believe we can make a differnce. I believe we can save lives. I believe that God will be praised above all.

Last night at the Derek Webb concert once of the artists made a statement that will forever stick with me. He said that there is something just as good as giving money and supporting minitries that change lives all over the world: that something good is living a joyful life. loving god. loving people. Africans have an unexplainable joy despite their circumstances. So why over here in America where we have everything are we so miserable at times? One of the best things we can do for the Kingdom of God is to rejoice in him and in the life he gave us.

Be joyful my friends.

Now and Then

The world is changing all around us and is moving at a speed that I sometimes can't keep up with. We often move at so fast of a pace that memories and moments of the past get thrown into boxes and put in places we promise ourselves we'll return to a at a later date. But we don't always return. We forget where we once were, we forget things we once did. all because life is moving forward, moving forward fast, and if we don't follow it, we might just get left behind. I wish life would slow down. I wish society wasn't so focused on moving forward. Yes there are things that need to change and there are changes that will make a big difference in our world. for the good. and I support that. But I just wish we were'nt always in a hurry. I wish we'd take the time to appreciate the world around us. take in the beauty of it all. the people. the scenery. the laughter. the love.
So here are some pieces of my past that I wish I could return too. Moments and memories of college life that have left me laughing and crying many days/months/years later. These are just some old pictures that I "dug" up!!
enjoy :)

Aggie Ring

Fallen

Passion 07
all I have to say is that the car ride was 18 hours and we had to leave at 5 am. This is what happens 14 hours into the trip!

ASC Retreat

LOST
This is the night I fell in love with Lost! me and the roomies watched lost for literally 48 hours straight. amazing. Season two was rather scary and this picture is of Jenny being terrified at whatever was happening in that particular episode. and I am pretty sure that moments later she jumped 18 feet in the air and flew to the back wall! one of the best nights (or 48 hours of my life) ... please note the NSYNC cd on the floor, hahahaha!
